It is definitely summer here in Washington, DC and I have been using my leg makeup or leg bronzer for a few months now. I remember my leg makeup or bronzer obsession started many years ago – I was probably
Nars Lip Gloss
I have two Nars Lip Glosses that I love. Actually, I have quite a few Nars makeup products that I love. But the problem is Nars uses an odd plastic for their packaging that always seems to deteriorate
Brazilian Bum Bum Cream
I was in Sephora the other day and a group of girls were speaking Portuguese and laughing so hard while taking pictures of something. I looked closer and they were laughing at this Brazilian Bum Bum Cream!
What’s in my makeup bag? The camping edition.
I LOVE makeup. I could go to Sephora every day. When I travel, I have a great train case for my makeup. But when I camp I like to pare down my makeup stash. Here are the basics I brought with me for
A girl’s guide to camping
Chris and I love camping. I don’t consider myself a girly girl, but I do love makeup and beauty products. So I decided to put together a girl’s guide to camping! I know a lot of women that would
The Epic Hike
We decided to hike the trail around the Cliff Pond. It is listed as 3.2 miles so we estimated that it would take us an hour or two. That’s about the same distance as a 5k and you can walk that in about
A day at the pond
We spend all day at Cliff Pond. Can you tell why we picked this campground? We floated in the lake all day and did a little fishing practice 🙂 and avoided the complications of the local beaches. We
Jo Mamas and Rock Harbor
We headed to Jo Mamas for breakfast. On their logo the ‘o’ is a coffee bean which helps explain their selection, they have coffee and bagels and also bagel sandwiches. We each grabbed a bagel sandwich
Evening swim time
We headed back to the pond for an evening swim and pretty much had the beach to ourselves. There were a few hikers and people coming to swim a little but the place was basically all ours for most of the
Nap time back at camp
When we got back to the campground we decided it would be a good idea to take a nap. We had to put some things away first and were busy doing that when we discovered that James had started his nap early.

The Beach!
Finally we found a parking lot for the beach, there was a booth at the entrance so probably a fee but we wanted to see the beaches so we pulled in to find out what the rules were. Before we could ask
Cake for Breakfast
We slept in and decided to find a place for breakfast. Ideally we were looking for waffles but that wasn’t so easy to find. Instead we found a place called Cake for Breakfast which was a little pastry
Campfire Time
After dinner we headed back to the campsite for a campfire and to wind down. James was chilly from being wet so we put him on his bed and threw his blanket on him to warm him up.
The poor guy was
Cobies
After getting cleaned up a bit from the pond we headed to Cobies. It was just outside of the park so it was probably the closest restaurant anyway. We were hoping for out door seating and lucky for us
Cliff Pond and Cobies
Back at Cliff Pond for the afternoon we were enjoying the clear water and the sunshine. James was fetching his ball farther and farther out and having a blast. I still hadn’t pulled out the fishing
Provincetown
We decided to head to Provincetown at the end of the cape. We had heard it was a really neat place to visit and that they had some good restaurants so we planned to have lunch up there. The drive was
Early morning swim at Cliff Pond
We woke up early because the sun was up and nobody else was. This was the time to walk around the park and head to Cliff Pond because we would have it all to ourselves. The water was really cold but
Midnight Raid!
Somewhere in the dark, in the middle of the night not too far from our tent it was quiet… very very quiet. Too quiet. I was awake but I wasn’t sure why, and did I mention it was quiet? Well not
FLIR Camera and the iPhone 6S Plus
For my birthday I got a FLIR camera for my iPhone, I’ve played with it around the neighborhood but this was my first chance to actually capture some wildlife with it and man did we have some wildlife
Sunset at Cliff Pond
After setting up our tents we hiked down to Cliff Pond, just in time for the sunset. It was fantastic. This was well worth the drive and why we chose to re-visit this campground for this trip.
