I was going through old photos on my phone and I spotted this gem! At some point, I had an app on my phone that converts photos to cartoons. I have since deleted the app so I can’t tell you which one

In Memory of Jackson the Poodle
My heart aches for our friend Amanda. Her Standard Poodle Jackson passed away on Friday May 25, 2018.
Back in March, Amanda took Jackson to a neurologist when he had some unexplained leg weakness.
Happy 8th Birthday James!
I can’t believe James is 8 years old. He is such a sweet and mellow boy but he also still has his puppy energy when it is time to play fetch!
Here are some formal 8th birthday portraits of James.
Is Anyone Else Ready for Summer?
I feel like we went from 90° Fahrenheit when we left Washington, DC in September to 50° Fahrenheit in Austria. We skipped those beautiful 70° days and went right into winter. Because of that, I am
James is Featured in a Magazine for his Therapy Dog Work
Last Spring, GW Hospital asked if they could feature James in their magazine.
(Before leaving DC, James and I volunteered at GW Hospital once a week.)
During our visits, James says hello to the
The Best Pocket Camera for Photographers: Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II
I know I posted back in August about my new Canon point and shoot camera. But I didn’t really go into detail about why I love this little point and shoot camera.
A little history: I used to be
Baby Niko’s Baptism
Right before we left for Vienna, we attended the Baptism for Baby Niko. His parents, Tina and Matt, are great friends of ours and we miss them now that we aren’t in DC anymore.

Letting Things Go
I saw this text on a photo and I thought – how fitting for exactly where we are in our lives right now.
New Canon G7xII for Vlogging
I have a Canon G10 I bought many years ago when it first came out and I love that little camera! It is still in great shape but I realized I wanted a camera that worked a little better for vlogging –
CityCenterDC Summer Decorations
I used to walk through CityCenterDC all the time when I was going to Goethe for German classes. Goethe has since moved and isn’t near CityCenter anymore. So we happened to be in the area the other night
A Maryland Sidewalk
There is something weird about Maryland (and Virginia seems to have this problem, too). There are hardly any sidewalks! Look at almost ANY neighborhood in Maryland and you will notice it. I love older
Washington Kastles Tennis
Every year we try to attend at least one Washington Kastles tennis match. The best part is the matches are indoors at the GW Basketball Arena. Where else can you watch tennis and be nice and cool in
Och Aye – Well THEY are Scottish!
Only a Scot would see this and laugh! I was walking home from the hospital with James when I spotted this Washington, DC tag and I started laughing. I started to walk away when I realized I should stop
Georgetown Summer Concerts in the Park
Georgetown has free summer concerts in the park and they are such a treat! We always run into friends and James has a good time playing with the kids and the other dogs.

Summer Cut – James
James got his summer cut from Ana over at Doggie Style. I have been making him lots of new summer bandanas, too!
James – A Therapy Dog Break
For the past few weeks at the hospital James has noticed a squirrel toy in a bag in the nurses area. He keeps eyeing it and sniffing towards the squirrel toy. But he is a good dog while he is working
Steven Klein featured in Architectural Digest
I was in Whole Foods the other day waiting to check out and I noticed the September issue of Architectural Digest had “Steven Klein” on the cover. Of course I had to check it out! Steven Klein was the
Cherry Blossoms in Washington, DC
I\’ve been wanting to visit Washington, DC at peak bloom for the cherry blossoms for years. I even had a recurring alert in my calendar to tell me to look into going every year. But the end of March
Spring in Washington, DC
April arrived and I took an afternoon off to walk around the mall area of Washington, DC. I saw a lot of blooms about to go nuts and I can\’t wait to go back again this week and see how they are looking.

Spring in Orlando
I was in Orlando for a wedding and I thought I missed the peak Tabebuia season. I used to call them (and still sometimes do) Trumpet Trees but they are not actually trumpet trees. They are Tabebuia trees.
