I am really enjoying all of the summer flowers. These flowers are planted but other areas in Oregon have beautiful wildflowers all along the road!

Instagram Poodle Friends
When James got sick a few months ago, the support we received online from other Poodle owners and friends was priceless. We even got a card in the mail from a Poodle friend! Thank you Shauna and John for the sweet card. Hugs to you both and Poodle hugs to Oliver, Finch and Gunner!
James and his Frisbee
James used to be a fetch Poodle. He still LOVES fetch, but at 9 years old, he isn’t running quite as far and as fast as he used to. Last summer, we bought him this frisbee when we were in Breckenridge, Colorado. He doesn’t chase the frisbee like a Border Collie. Instead, Chris and I…
Night Sky Photos
We decided to get up in the middle of the night and take some night sky photos. I didn’t bring my big cameras – just my little Canon G7x. Chris brought his 360° camera and he also did some time lapse videos of the sun rising. He might show those off later here on the…
Poodle Photo on the Window in Gouda
We walked past a veterinarian office in Gouda and noticed a big Poodle decal on the window. We wanted to get a photo of James by the Poodle decal! We later found out from someone on the street that this Poodle belonged to the veterinarian and that Poodle has since passed away. But they have…
La Bottega del Mosaico
One of my favorite artist shops in Florence is La Bottega del Mosaico. I really want to go back to Florence to buy one of these mosaics to hang in our home.
If you were quickly walking past the
The Streets of Florence
I love the streets of Florence. Some are SO small – I realize the FJ would not fit! I love the random fountains, the triangle shaped buildings where two street meet and the people watching!
James and David
“Hey James, pose like David!”
I thought James was striking a similar pose to David looking slightly over his left shoulder.
This is the original location of Michelangelo’s David and this is a copy
Poodles in the Bottega Veneta Window Display
Since 2018 is the Year of the Dog, Bottega Veneta included dogs in their window display in Florence, Italy! Do you see the Poodles? Well, the Poodles in addition to James?
A Sign of Spring: Crocus Flowers
During our first Spring in Washington, DC, I spotted the Crocus flowers starting to bloom in the park where I walked James and in a lot of flower boxes along the streets of Georgetown. I had never seen
James and the Big Red Couch
James really likes our big red couch in Florence, Italy!
Summer Cartoon
I was going through old photos on my phone and I spotted this gem! At some point, I had an app on my phone that converts photos to cartoons. I have since deleted the app so I can’t tell you which one
In Memory of Jackson the Poodle
My heart aches for our friend Amanda. Her Standard Poodle Jackson passed away on Friday May 25, 2018.
Back in March, Amanda took Jackson to a neurologist when he had some unexplained leg weakness.
Happy 8th Birthday James!
I can’t believe James is 8 years old. He is such a sweet and mellow boy but he also still has his puppy energy when it is time to play fetch!
Here are some formal 8th birthday portraits of James.
Is Anyone Else Ready for Summer?
I feel like we went from 90° Fahrenheit when we left Washington, DC in September to 50° Fahrenheit in Austria. We skipped those beautiful 70° days and went right into winter. Because of that, I am
James is Featured in a Magazine for his Therapy Dog Work
Last Spring, GW Hospital asked if they could feature James in their magazine.
(Before leaving DC, James and I volunteered at GW Hospital once a week.)
During our visits, James says hello to the
The Best Pocket Camera for Photographers: Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II
I know I posted back in August about my new Canon point and shoot camera. But I didn’t really go into detail about why I love this little point and shoot camera.
A little history: I used to be
Baby Niko’s Baptism
Right before we left for Vienna, we attended the Baptism for Baby Niko. His parents, Tina and Matt, are great friends of ours and we miss them now that we aren’t in DC anymore.
I brought my big Canon
Letting Things Go
I saw this text on a photo and I thought – how fitting for exactly where we are in our lives right now.
New Canon G7xII for Vlogging
I have a Canon G10 I bought many years ago when it first came out and I love that little camera! It is still in great shape but I realized I wanted a camera that worked a little better for vlogging –
