Last fall I told you about the amazing Dark Chocolate Coconut Almonds we found in Canada at Bulk Barn. Today, I was wandering around Costco when I spotted a huge bag of Edward Marc Chocolatier Coconut Almonds with Dark Chocolate. The bag is huge – 32 ounces! And they are on sale right now for $7.99 (originally $11.89).
Here are the packages of the Costco Edward Marc Coconut Almonds next to the Kroger Dark Chocolate Almonds with Sea Salt (the same thing I found at Fred Meyer last summer in Oregon). The Costco bag is 3x the size for the same price!
I decided to buy the giant bag and they are really good! They definitely are sweeter than just plain dark chocolate almonds. The coconut part is very thick – I think it might even be a little thicker than the Bulk Barn’s coconut. But the chocolate on the outside is softer – almost like a milk chocolate. They are labeled as dark chocolate, but these aren’t the super dark chocolate that I love. Chris even described the chocolate on the outside of these Edward Marc chocolates as wet. The Kroger/Fred Meyer chocolate almonds are made with a waxier dark chocolate:
