Wow, this week has been interesting in Washington, DC. Tuesday was a long night for everyone. I tried to stay up to see the results. I originally decided to go to bed around 11pm. But then I couldn’t fall asleep so I moved out to the couch in the living room and watched the news for another three hours. By 2am, I was done. I went to bed. At 6am we woke up and saw that Donald Trump won the election.
93% of the city voted for Hillary. I knew people were going to be upset but this was nothing like I anticipated!
On Wednesday morning, as I walked from Georgetown to Foggy Bottom, I felt like I was in a ghost town. Where was everyone? And the few people I did see – not one person looked at me. No one smiled at James.
When I am walking with James, people always smile at him and often we start talking about James and/or dogs. Usually when I walk, I am so happy and energetic. Washington, DC is such a beautiful town – especially in the fall. But on Wednesday there was a very bad energy and it was draining me and even James!
It will be really interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks.
