On the outskirts of Venice Italy is the island of Lido di Venezia. The whole island has a beach town feel that is so different from the heart of Venice. The beaches are packed in the summer but in the off-season they are quiet and great for dogs! There is a sign for the dog beach and dog beach rules but we noticed a lot of Venetians were walking their dogs along the entire beach area. Since there are hardly any people on the beach this time of year it wasn’t a problem. The beach is covered in shells so we enjoyed collecting shells and looking for shark’s teeth (we didn’t find any shark’s teeth like we do on Florida’s beaches). James enjoyed playing fetch!
