Plane on a Conveyor Belt?

This is the funniest myth that has appeared on Mythbusters so far, funny because I have heard about it on the radio for a week before and a week after they show aired. How did this become such a hot topic?

So here's the myth... If a plane is on a conveyor belt and the plane and the belt are moving in opposite directions, will it prevent the plane from taking off?

My guess was that the plane would still take off because it's the propeller (or jet) that provides the thrust and the wheels are free spinning so they have no effect on the plane's ability to gain speed.
