We arrived at our campsite just before 7:00 pm making the official drive time almost exactly 12 hours. Looks like a really nice estimate from Sandra once again. Now it is time to set up our tents, we have two to set up and as you can see the bigger the tent the more effort it takes to set up. The first one is the four person Ozark Trail tent that we picked up from Wal-Mart years ago. This tent was great for the National Parks out west because it is very breezy and some of those canyons are, well … really warm at night. This one also packs up pretty small so it’s great for car camping because it doesn’t take up much space. This is the setup:
Now this is our second tent. It is a 6 person tent with a nice hinged door and a built in closet. It is tall enough to stand in so we were going to use it as the changing room on this trip. It’s not as breezy so it can get a bit warm. It’s made by Coleman and was perfect for our East Coast road trip where we camped on the beach in the Outer Banks and also in Acadia National Park outside of Bar Harbor, Maine. Here is the setup:
Ok, we’re going to take a quick hike down to the pond so we will check back with you later!
