We decided to try a steal coaster next, they are usually smoother and because there was probably another hour wait the Advil had time to work on our headaches. The Magnum XL-2000 was our next stop, wait time: 45 minutes.
This coaster had two things going for it, people were lined up to ride it and people cheered with they got off of it. We felt much better about this one.
The first hill of the Magnum XL is 600 feet high and the view of Lake Erie from the top is amazing, as long as you don’t look down. Then the drop… you hit 72 mph and go screaming up the next hill coming out of your seat as you go over the top, this was fun! We hit the end of the loop and did a sharp turn before heading back to the station then all of a sudden the track dropped out from under us jerking the train down and us with it. “This sucks” was coming to mind as this seemed to be the new trick for the return trip in the loop. My brain was feeling scrambled and with each jerk my headache was getting worse.
We pulled into the station and I said, “I’m done.” Meaning every word of it. The Mean Streak had ruined it. I was perfectly willing to sit out for a while but we collectively decided to go walk the dogs and take a break.
