A few of our group said their goodbyes and headed home. The rest of us had a lapse in judgement and headed to the lake for a swim.
The water was cold, really cold. But once you went numb it wasn’t so bad. We swam around for a while and set out to find the pile of rocks that was the base of the old diving tower. It took a while but we did find the rock pile and had our picture taken to prove it.
Eventually we came to our senses and decided to build a fire. We had a pretty good pile of dry wood but it wasn’t going very well until Hyrum (Sandra’s cousin’s husband) put his Eagle Scout skills to work and got things going.
(Actually he started working on it and the rest of us were more than happy to just watch) It didn’t take long and we had the fire going well, so we brought out the s’mores and had desert until we were all in a sugar induced coma. Slowly we all started to fade and we headed back to the cabin for bed.
