With all of our shopping done we decided to head to Niagara Falls. We just couldn’t get this close and not take the time to see something like that. It was about a 2 hour drive which really isn’t that bad.
We pulled into Niagara with almost an empty gas tank and finding gas in town is not an easy thing especially with tons of cars and pedestrians to make driving difficult enough as it was. We made a loop past the falls then cut out of the traffic to get gas.
The gas station was full service only so I ran in to get a soda and Sandra asked for a candy bar, “something unusual”, she said. So I grabbed a cadbury crunchy, some other Cadbury thing in a purple wrapper that I’d never heard of and an O’Henry. I wanted to make sure I had “unusual” covered. When I got back to the car all seemed well, then she tried the first candy bar… it was basically peanuts, nougat and chocolate. (My kind of candy bar but not hers) looks like that one is now mine. The second bar had to be “unusual” but no… peanuts, caramel, chocolate… another candy bar for me.
Oh well, the third one would have to wait, we found an all day parking spot for $7 one block away from the falls, time to check it out. The Canadian side of the falls is the better side to see the falls from. The American side is better if you want to get closer to the water.
