We had been told that we had to see the Old section of Montreal so we drove through it to see what it was all about. The buildings were older and the streets were all cobblestone and very wide. The dogs loved the horse drawn carriages, or as they saw it, the really big dogs pulling the people in the buggies.
We honestly preferred the real Montreal that we found the night before while we were heading to the Raw Foods place. You get a better feel for a city by seeing the residential areas than by seeing the tourist attractions that are always over hyped and full of souvenirs that are all made in China anyway. This was Montreal’s way of saying “It came from our local volcano” like we were told by a guy in St. Lucia about a necklace he and everyone else in the Caribbean had for sale.
