We headed over the Chesapeake Bridge/Tunnel and hit the $12 toll! It was a really, really long way across the bay so we felt it was well worth the $12 instead of the hours of driving around the bay.
Then… farmland, as far as we could see and all the way to Pocamoke where we turned off to the National Forrest for our campground reservation at Milburn Landing State Park. As it turns out there were three groups camping here tonight (we were #3) then one in a cabin and another late arrival with an RV. It was a quiet night with no rain and plenty of time for us to setup, relax and clean all of that sand out of the car, our tent and everywhere else sand could go.
We had a relaxing dinner and just about dusk Sandra spotted Fireflies!
The fireflies were everywhere, Duke was staring around the campground like a kid in a toy factory! Goblin was chasing them, but only when they lit up. It was a circus all around!
But as it got darker they all faded away and we hit the tent to try to get at least our first full night’s sleep so far on our trip. There is a chance of rain in the forecast but let’s hope we stay dry.
Goblin just shifted so he is sharing Sandra’s pillow, and I don’t have a camera! I guess that’s my cue to go to sleep myself.
