This was our camp site at Zion. We could have had several tents in our site, it was huge! But remember that it was 115 during the day on our trip, and at night it was 95 degrees, so it was pretty tough to get some sleep. Especially with the screaming child from 2am to 3:30am.
The best part of this camp ground is the river you can swim in and it is just down the hill from the cars parked in the background here. They don’t have shower facilities at this park so the river was perfect for cooling off and getting out of the heat.
On our whole trip, this was by far the hardest place to camp out because of the heat. It did work in our favor though because we got up early to get away from the heat and we got to see the long horn sheep that usually hide from the visitors to the park. It was about 6:15am and they were right along the road on our way out of the park. The one closest to the road was the one wearing the radio collar, funny that he was the least afraid of people.
