From our National Park trip last July, we left off at our arrival to Zion National Park. (Click on “Vacations” at the top of the page if you need to catch up)
By far this was the most beautiful of the National Parks that we had seen on our trip so far. The park has so many different rock features and colors that it is just unbelievable.
Not to mention that you are visiting the park through the bottom of the canyon rather than the rim so you get to see the rivers, vegetation and wildlife up close.
There are several waterfalls in the park and trails to get you up close, and in come cases even behind the waterfalls.
Most of the park is only accessible by foot so you have to plan on hiking if you really want to see as much as you can on your visit.
And you will hike through some of the most incredible scenery you will ever find. It’s hard to believe that this place exists in such a pristine state.
Keep in mind that because you are in the canyon it is very hot. I think the temperature was around 115 during the day on our visit and it was great to know that the river through the park was ice cold and you are allowed to swim in the river if you need to cool off.
Even if you only have time to drive through Zion National Park, it is worth the entrance fee.
It really is amazing when you find some of the locals that are not scared of you. This deer was less than 10 feet from the trail as we were hiking along one of the trails.
There was so much to see in Zion National Park that we will have to make another trip in the future to see the things that we missed, but we were impressed by the things we did get to see on our visit.
