I read the book “Your body’s many cries for water” not too long ago and it was a really insightful book. I was on a pretty good water kick for a while after reading the book and I highly recommend it:
But I decided I needed a boost and I bought this water book last week from Amazon:
So far, I realized I am not starting out my day with enough water (the doctor already told me this but I forgot until just now). You should drink a quart of water when you first wake up to flush your digestive tract and to rehydrate your system from the overnight fast. I’ve been drinking a protein shake first thing and then a little water with my vitamins. I really don’t start drinking a good amount of water until half way through the morning! So I am going to start working on that.
I had my quart of water this morning before breakfast and it was tough to do! I wasn’t even hungry after finishing it. But I waited about an hour and made my protein shake. Then I kept drinking water all day – I barely had room for food and I did not have room for my tea. I guess I won’t be squeezing in a glass of wine or beer! Chris said maybe I am like a plant with dry soil – when you first pour water on it, it runs right out the bottom. But after it starts to soak up some water into the soil, it can hold more water.
