I love people watching and window shopping when I am in NYC. I always like to go to Bloomingdales, Henri Bendel and Bergdorf Goodman to see what the trends are doing.
I loved that in Bloomingdales they had a whole section of wedding dresses! This is new for Bloomingdales – they don’t have a bridal salon like Saks Fifth Avenue or Macy’s and all of the dresses were gorgeous! They were not as big as traditional wedding dresses and many would be perfect for destination weddings, reception dresses or vow renewals.
Look at these dresses! I love the one front left – a Nicole Miller:
This one was my favorite – a Mark and James for Badgley Mischka:
Then up on the housewares floor I noticed this stunning place setting from Prouna. Gorgeous! It definitely fits the “this china has bling” description since it is covered with Swarovski crystals! It turns out Bloomindales just started carrying the Prouna line!
I was walked around and talking to Chris on the phone. He was back in Orlando working on these awesome Umbra frames we have been putting in our hallway. We bought a bunch of white ones in Canada a few years ago and we decided to get a few more and make a whole wall collage of the Polaroid looking frames. Then I saw this Banana Republic window and had to send Chris a photo!
I also have an obsession with macarons and you can’t find good ones in Florida. I think it is too humid and the egg whites don’t stay crisp. So I ate a few. So delicious!
These are from the Francois Payard Chocolate Bar:
And one night I headed over to the meatpacking district to see what the area was looking like these days. I used to work right here in this intersection and it looks so different now. They have added big pots and pedestrian areas – it used to be a mess of big meat trucks and cars:
I also stopped in to Fig and Olive for an awesome meal!
