Yesterday’s post had me wondering why no Caribbean Islands were on the list – I was very surprised! So of course I had to look and see the top Caribbean wedding locations. I had a really hard time finding too many statistics but here are ones that seem to be the most popular:
-Aruba (the Renaissance here has a private island that I think would be perfect for a destination wedding – we went there one day on a cruise ship stop. They have a resort fee for non-guests but it included lunch, drinks and snorkel gear!)
-St. John, US Virgin Islands (on our list to visit one day!)
-Turks & Caicos Islands (we have friends that were married here and we had to work another wedding the same day here in Orlando but I loved looking at their photos!)
-Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands (I will have to add this one to my list!)
-St. Thomas (on another cruise we stopped here and I was worried Chris might not get back on the ship. He loves St. Thomas!)
-Nevis, West Indies (we had a bride and groom go to Nevis for their honeymoon and I loved looking at their photos! So pretty and lush!)
-Atlantis, Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas (this resort is huge – a little too huge for me. I am not sure if I will go back since I prefer resorts to be a little smaller and intimate. But the property is incredible and the beaches are gorgeous! Tons of things to do and places to eat!)
-Barbados (Chris almost didn’t get on the ship at St. Thomas and this is how I felt in Barbados. I have a very hard time relaxing and I had no problem melting into the beaches in Barbados!)
-Mayan Riviera, Mexico (We’ve only been here on cruise ship stops but I would love to stay at a resort for longer and see much more of the country)
-Grand Cayman (I think of SCUBA whenever I hear Grand Cayman and also stingrays. Such a gorgeous place to get married!)
Do you have any you can add to the list? I always love new vacation ideas!
Side note – one day Chris and I were stuck in traffic coming home from Tampa. I had a notebook and I decided to write down every place we ever want to visit in our lifetime. The list had about 35 major trips! With one a year before we start getting too old (is there even a such thing as too old to travel?) I thought we better get working on that list!
