A few days ago I posted about how Yahoo and McAfee had teamed up to provide virus warnings on the Yahoo search results, pointing out how it would have been a better idea for them to use McAfee to filter out potential virus ridden sites rather than just to flag them for you, but that’s Yahoo’s bad judgement in the long run. But now McAfee has really offended me with their latest web site development, they have spammed my contact form in an effort to see how many emails they receive to their email address as a result.
What did they find? They received one email replying to their request for information and they claim that they have received an average of 2.7 emails per month as a result of asking me for information about our business. Take a look for yourself: //www.siteadvisor.com/sites/sjfoto.com/email
So in their effort to report on spam they are spamming my online contact form. Don’t you think that is pretty tacky? This isn’t a signup form as they are suggesting, it is a contact form that asks for detailed information about our services. Do I really need to do background checks to see if everyone asking for information is legit now that McAfee is going to start abusing my contact form? Friends don’t spam friend’s contact forms.
