I don’t. This year I have seen so many surprises and there are still more to come. The one surprise was a birthday party (the most common it seems). The birthday girl arrived and everyone had been partying for at least an hour and it was like she was late to her own party and missed a big bit of it. It was odd. And she wasn’t really dressed up and had no makeup – I am not sure what the sidetrack plan was. But if I had a surprise planned, I would hope Chris would take me to somewhere fancy first so I could look nice in the end!
Then another surprise was a bride – she had plans for Friday that involoved relaxing before the big day but her friends decided to throw her a surprise party. They made her cancel all of her plans and I somehow ended up being the one picked to tell her she had to cancel everything. She was really upset and I had to somewhat break the surprise – not all the way – but enough to get her not so worried. In the end – if I would have been in charge I would have surprised her with what SHE wanted to do.
It just seems like surprises are for the ones throwing the surprise, not for the guest of honor. We have a surprise party coming up and I am worried it isn’t going to be fun since this isn’t something the guest of honor would do on their own anyway.
Anyway – just on my soap box about surprises today!
