I’ve decided to give up trying to fix anything around the house. Our front porch light went out because of a bad bulb last year and I thought it would be a good time to replace the fixture. So after replacing everything and installing a brand new bulb I couldn’t get it to work at all. So I called in an electrician and $100 and 5 minutes later, he determined that it was a bad bulb.
Next, I painted our living room and decided to change all of the outlets and switches so that they would match the new paint color. Then one of the outlets stopped working. So after changing it out several times I called an electrician again and $100 and 20 minutes later, he determined that the new switch connected to the outlet was bad.
Then our washing machine that is only a year old began giving us an error message and it wasn’t spinning properly. So I called a repair man from Sears. $120 and 30 minutes later, he found my pen stuck in a filter contraption just before the pump on the washer. I have no idea how it made it from my pocket through the drain hose into the filter, but I will be checking my pockets from now on.
So that’s the end of me trying to fix anything or trying to rush through my laundary.
Oh, did I mention the time I installed a digital thermostat on our A/C-Heater unit only to find that it didn’t work with our Heat Pump just in time for winter?
