The grounds at the capitol building in Pierre, South Dakota are beautiful! There is a large pond with a walking path around it and a few different garden areas.
This was a water feature at the Veteran’s Memorial and it extended out over the pond:
It was a hot day and James the Poodle wasn’t in the mood for a lot of walking. So we only walked a little bit.
I did spot some peonies that were about to bloom:
Then we found a nice shady spot to sit and relax. A few visitors came and went from the capitol but it was a weekend so we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves!
