We didn’t realize that October weekends at many campgrounds were so busy until we bought our RV. We assumed October was the shoulder season and with the exception of people looking for fall leaves, campsites would probably be quiet. Wow, were we wrong! We were in Tennessee for a weekend in October and we found out there was going to be trick-or-treating at our campground – Anchor Down RV Resort. We ran out to grab a bag of candy at the store and we quickly ran out of that candy! But before we ran out of candy we did have two little girls show up that were dressed in Poodle skirts. I asked their Mom if I could take their photo with James the Poodle!
In addition to trick-or-treating, Anchor Down had a site decoration contest for Halloween. This campsite was my favorite – even though it wasn’t a ‘Florida Gator’ tent:
James enjoyed his favorite game of frisbee:
The campsites at Anchor Down are really big and many of them have these big beautiful fireplaces. James helped Chris make a fire:
It was quite chilly in the evenings and I enjoyed keeping my toes warm with the fire:
We enjoyed walking down to Lake Douglas at sunset:
The next morning, I noticed the sun was about to come up right behind our campsite:
James likes to sleep late and he wasn’t as excited about the sunrise as I was! But I opened the door and let him see the sunrise from his bed:
A little later James was up and ready to soak up the sunshine:
