Years ago I remember seeing this photo:
I told Chris I wanted to go ice skating on this rink in Vienna one day! Usually the Wiener Eistraum (The Vienna Ice Dream) doesn’t open until January – once the Christmas market buildings have been taken down. This year, a section of the ice skating opened in November! In the top of the photo – the paths or trails you see of ice – that is what is open. So we went skating of course! It was so much fun!
I had ice skates when we lived in DC and wow did I miss having those here in Vienna. The rental boots are a bit uncomfortable but we made the best of it! It was interesting to see that almost everyone had their own skates and these fun ice skate shaped bags to carry them.
After skating, we walked a little bit through the first district and it started to snow!
Merry Christmas!
