So it is almost Christmas, and everyone is making goodies. All I could think was “who has the time?” every time I saw something homemade. Then I started reading a thread online about what people were making for their Christmas goodies. I realized we haven’t cooked in a while, and we have this *new* awesome kitchen. I have the best cookbook ever thanks to Trish Walden – it is her family’s secret recipe book. She gave it to me probably 10 years ago. You just can’t go wrong with any of the recipes. So I picked a few to try and now we are not only in the Christmas spirit goodie-wise, but we are on a massive sugar rush! My mom and the Browns arrive in a few days – they can help tackle the stash.
Here is what we made:
* Bourbon Balls (thanks to Trish Walden)
* Chocolate filled snowballs (also thanks to Trish Walden)
* Birds’ nests (Chris loves these and makes them about once every few years as a treat)
* The easiest fudge ever (Thanks to Linda in Kentucky – it is 1 container of icing and 1 bag of chocolate chips – you microwave the two together – choose any two flavors you want. Keep mixing until fully melted. We did milk chocolate chips, chocolate icing and added pecans. SO easy and SO yummy!)
Merry Christmas!
