Thursday was our 4th anniversary! We worked all day and then went out for dinner at night to Le Coq Au Vin – a little local French place. It was an icky rainy day – but still hot! I am so ready for cold weather! It was freezing the day we got married. I just ordered three cute sweaters and a pair of boots from Nordstrom.com and I haven’t been able to wear them! I am thinking I might just return them – no sense in owning something I can’t wear!
A shot of us before we headed out for dinner. Don’t we look exhausted? Anyone want to buy us a much needed vacation? Hahaha!
So speaking of “no sense in owning something I can’t wear!” you would never guess what I decided to do on our anniversary! I would say “I pulled a Robin Fecitt.” Don’t know Robin? Well, Robin pulls out her wedding dress every June and wears it around the house! My dress has been preserved and cleaned. It was well wrapped in a box. But this was actually a good research project! After opening my dress, I realized they used tag fasteners throughout the dress to hold it in place. I will tell you – lots of shaking, kicking, throwing, etc – this dress would not move in a hundred years of this thing was abused daily. It took me about 20 minutes to take the dress out of the box. These tag fasteners held the dress to the dress, the dress to the box, you name it – it had a tag fastener in it. And what do tag fasteners do? They put holes in the material! So my dress is COVERED in holes! If my daughter did want to wear this someday, I am not sure she could! I just can’t recommend this to brides in the future – I would say just get your dress cleaned and box it up yourself.
But back to the fun stuff – my dress rocks! It is such a pretty dress. It was so much fun wearing it again. It is (ah-hem) tight. But maybe that will motivate me to get my body back into wedding shape! Chris had to lace me up – and he was getting so frustrated! I can’t even remember who did it on the wedding day – I think it was my dad! I am pretty sure mom and Beth were supposed to do it but they were out smoking, so my dad did it. Actually, yes he did! I am remembering pictures now!
I love the shot of Duke looking at me:
Happy Anniversary Brownie! I love you!
