But then I guess it wouldn’t be as fun!
We got an early start on Halloween – I think we bought our candy at Sam’s on October 1st. We bought 3 huge bags of good stuff – all chocolate. So our stash included Butterfinger, Hersheys, KitKat, Twix, 100 Grand, PB Cups, Whoppers, Mounds, Milky Way, Baby Ruth, Snickers, Almond Joy, M&Ms and Crunch. They were all calling our names over and over “eat me Chris” and “eat me Sandra” so we had to hide them. I am shocked we actually didn’t open the bags until tonight. I thought for sure we would be buying 3 more bags.
Check out the stash above!
Then from our shoot on Sunday we had five bales of hay and 9 pumpkins. So we started carving. Chris is a master speed carver – he did 7 pumpkins and I did two. I did a bat and a face. Then Chris did a bunch of eyes, faces, Frankenstien and a puking pumpkin.

We got a pretty good set of kids – not as busy as our first year in the house 5 years ago. I think the Avalon Park style neighborhoods have an edge with well lit streets, lots of kids live there and the houses are all really close. We should move to one of those newer neighborhoods!
This is one set of kids we had and since the parents were taking pics, I ran out to take one, too. We have such a fun setup, people always stop to do pictures at our house!
