I noticed on the cruise that my beloved No 7 Airbrush Away BB Cream wasn’t quite the right shade. I have been using a face self tanner lately so I am a little bronzer/warmer than usual. And I am finally getting a good summer tan. So the Airbrush Away was a little too cool and almost gray.
I went to Sephora to buy an absolute favorite summer foundation: Urban Decay Naked Skin. It is very thin and watery and it dries to a perfect natural finish. It feels light on my skin for the summer. And the coverage is great, too. But there was a problem. Apparently I missed the memo that Urban Decay had discontinued this foundation and they created a new foundation called Stay Naked. I bought a bottle of this so-called new and improved Naked Skin and the new finish was SO matte – it was awful! If you have really oily skin and you like a matter finish, you might like it. But I prefer my foundation to be a little on the natural or even dewy side.
I was a little sad about my Urban Decay being discontinued and poorly reformulated so I went on a shopping spree at Walmart, Ulta and Sephora. I won’t mention how many bottles of foundation I bought (YIKES!) but I was in the mood to try and find a good new one.
I found a winner at Walmart! And it is an affordable drugstore foundation! Revlon PhotoReady Candid Natural Finish Anti-Pollution. I got the color 310 Butterscotch and it is perfect! I am so excited that the $8.97 foundation is the clear winner so far. I do have quite a few others I bought and I like most of them. I will blog about them as I use them more but for now, I can’t stop using the Revlon PhotoReady Candid!
My favorite part is the small and lightweight bottle. I have some glass bottle favorites that are heavy and when I travel I like to carry lightweight makeup.
I also love that it doesn’t have sunscreen. I don’t buy foundation with sunscreen because it tends to break me out and it makes me look really white somehow – even if it is the correct shade.
