We got up at sunrise one morning to hike around Sylvan Lake in Custer State Park. Custer is one of our favorite places in South Dakota!
It is an easy hike around the lake and it is dog friendly. We brought James with us but we decided it might be a little too much for him so we left him in the car (now that he is 12 he can’t walk for long periods of time and when he does he walks very slowly).
It was cool at 6am but during the heat of the day I imagine a lot of people are swimming in Sylvan Lake!
