Living in Georgetown is so much fun for people watching! Most people here dress very well – all the time. It is fun to see the trends and the classics. Washington DC does tend to lean towards classic and traditional. Even in the summer, you don’t see a lot of flip flops like you see in Florida year round. The women wear Sperry boat shoes, slip on Keds, Tory Burch flats and pretty/dressy sandals.
I was in Macy’s the other day and I spotted these pretty flip flops from INC. They were definitely something I would buy if I was still living in Florida. I lived in Birkenstocks and Sanuk flip flops when we lived in Orlando! Look at how pretty and dressy (well, Florida dressy!) these flip flops are – I would wear them under a bridesmaid dress or wedding dress in Florida. Rhinestone Bow Flip Flops at Macy’s by INC:
I though to myself, “I really won’t wear those much here in DC.” So I moved on to keep browsing.
Then I spotted a pair of block heel loafers from Michael Kors. Now these are “Washington DC” haha!!!! And I wanted them!!! What has this town done to me? In Florida, I didn’t own a pair of loafers – flat or heeled. But I guess the preppy is getting to me and making me want to have some prep in my step, too!
These Michael Kors Bayville Loafers definitely have a look that says “I have a law degree” but even without the law degree I still think they are so pretty. And I would wear these under a bridesmaid dress here in DC!
