This summer I was looking for the perfect hot pink nail polish. I remember American Apparel had some neon nail polish not long ago but when I looked in the store here in Georgetown and online I couldn’t find it anymore. So I went searching.
I ended up finding the JulieG nail polish brand at Rite Aid. Check out this hot pink! It is called Oh Em Gee. I also got a pink glitter from Julie G (it goes on clear pretty much with pink iridescent glitter) and it is called Sugar Rocks.
The hot pink is great! It does dry a little matte. But that is okay because after years and years of looking for the best, shiniest top coat ever – I found it! It is the Seche Vite top coat. Not only does it have a nice shine, it dries FAST. And hard!!! I used to paint my nails and the NEXT DAY go take a yoga class and my toe nail polish would scuff up. Now I can paint my toes and a few hours later take a yoga class, wear closed toed shoes or tennis shoes and my nail polish doesn’t budge! It is awesome!!!
And have you figured out the secret to glitter nail polish? I have! You use the OPI glitter off base coat. It is like using school glue on your nails. It does take a few minutes to dry clear (from the white glue look). But then you paint your glitter nail polish on top of it. When you are ready to re-paint your nails you just peel the glitter off. It is amazing! If you have ever tried to take off a glitter nail polish with nail polish remover you will know it is hell. And I think you lose a few layers of nail while trying to scrape off those stubborn glitter bits.
