I really didn’t think a hair brush made a difference. I tried using round brushes (the kind the hairdressers are masters at using when they blow dry my hair into a sleek straight finish) but I couldn’t get it right. So I have just used a Cricket Fast Flo brush like this one for years:
But then I heard about the Tangle Teezer. I saw the original in person (I think at Sephora years ago) and I just wasn’t sold. I like a brush with a handle. So when Tangle Teezer came out with a paddle brush at Sephora online, I decided to try it. I bought the half paddle and it is HUGE. I can’t imagine anyone needs the full paddle brush. I have a lot of hair and it is long right now and the half paddle is perfect. It is a hard brush and it does hurt if you push too hard on your scalp. And if you are wearing a lace shirt the brush will snag your shirt. But overall this brush is amazing! It doesn’t rip my hair or pull my hair. I use it when I get out of the shower, when I wake up, when I need to fix my hair after a few hours – it works for everything! The only thing I would fix is adding some sort of non-slip grip to the handle. The brush does tend to slip out of my hands from time to time. I was even thinking about buying that screwdriver handle paint that you “dip” a screwdriver into to refresh the rubber grip for the Tangle Teezer’s handle.

Then I saw on Sephora’s website that Tangle Teezer made an aqua brush. Being thrifty, I decided I could save $17 and just use my current Tangle Teezer paddle brush in the shower. It works. And I loved it. But the brush is slick when wet and kept slipping out of my hands. And I think I was getting water inside the brush. So I decided to buy the Aqua Splash Tangle Teezer from Sephora. It is awesome! Instead of using my fingers to distribute the conditioner throughout my hair I now use the Aqua Splash. I am not breaking my hair as much and I really feel like my conditioner is evenly covering my hair!

I can’t believe I waited so long to buy both of these Tangle Teezer brushes. They are both awesome and well worth the money!
