I don’t remember having very many options for prom dresses when I was in high school. We had Dillards and then across the river there was Jacobson’s but I was a unique kid with unique taste in dresses. Luckily I decided to do my high school’s pageant and a nice woman at my mom’s salon helped me and told me I had to have a pageant dress. So I wore the same dress to the pageant and prom – it was a slim fitting fully beaded dress by Alyce and I loved it! I think the dress shop was called Jade Bridal up on the north side of town. I still have that dress. But fully beaded dresses are SO 1990-something. Check out these gorgeous dresses – all from a catalog I got in the mail (not sure why I am on THAT mailing list) for the Altamonte Mall’s Prom Store. The book is called the Prom 2011 Cool Book.
Oh – and apparently the dress shops for this Cool Collection keep a registry of who bought what – so you don’t show up wearing the same dress as another girl in your school!
I love this hot pink one shoulder dress:
This is insane – it looks like a wedding dress – only red!
I thought this one had an art look to it with splattered paint Jackson Pollock style on it:
Woah – super sexy low cut prom!
Another bridal looking dress with fun ruffles and shades of pink and purple:
I like the side cutouts in this one:
