I love trying new beauty products! It is a fun (and sometimes expensive) hobby that works out most of the time but sometimes I find a dud.
Right now I am trying Matrix Age Rejuvenating Leave-In Densifier. I love the Matrix deep conditioners – one time I bought the wrong kind on accident but I still loved it. Since my hair is a little on the flat, dull and frizzy side right now I’ve been trying all sorts of new stuff.
Here are the Matrix claims:
Restores strength, suppleness and shine. Formulated with a revitalizing Hair Nutrition Complex of Camelina Oil for moisture, Lycopene to protect from premature hair aging, and Rice Protein to help repair damage and revive elasticity that leaves hair more resilient. Unique dual performing thickening and volumizing leave-in treatment. Delivers root lift and conditioning shine while repairing hair, for bounce, body and strength. Weightless formula. For daily use.
And here is the bottle:
My first thoughts are it feels like it is loaded with alcohol. It is a thin gel-like substance – imagine your gel being on the watery side. I used two pumps the first time and it felt like it evaporated right away as my hands touched my hair. Weightless – check. But did it do anything? Not that I noticed.
So I tried again another day – yet again I did two pumps (I have just past shoulder length hair). I didn’t see anything.
So today I tried 8 pumps – you heard me right – Eight!!! I don’t really like to overload on anything but I figured I had to try since the 2 pumps didn’t make a difference. Well, the thickness is definitely there! The only thing is I have a few spots where my hairs are stuck together and crispy – like back in the 80s when we sprayed WAY too much Infusium leave in conditioner in our hair after being in the pool or ocean. Ick! So maybe I could cut back to 6 pumps next time.
The only thing is I don’t really see the shine – if I flat iron my hair later I will still need to spritz a shine spray.
Overall grade = B-
