My name is Sandra and I own my own photography business with my husband Chris. I know a lot of photographers have blogs and they showcase their work on their blogs. But I prefer to showcase my work in my gallery – and I have my individual galleries set up like a blog post with information about the event at the bottom.
But I happen to love a lot of things that I want to blog about and I think my clients would enjoy to read about them, too.
I love fashion! I don’t really wear the latest trends but I enjoy reading about them. I lived in New York City when I was fresh out of college and I worked for Steven Klein. He did (and still does) a lot of shoots for Vogue (not just American Vogue but L’uomo Vogue, French Vogue and other international editions). I loved every minute of the behind the scenes fashion and to this day I love seeing what trends are coming and going. I really love to guess what trends will make it! Sometimes I fail at it but sometimes I like what makes it!
I love beauty products! Makeup, lotion, hair products, soap, etc. I am always trying out new stuff and telling my friends about what works and what doesn’t.
I love shoes! I know this could fall into fashion but shoes are all on their own. I own way too many pairs but the last time I donated shoes they came back in style (brown leather t straps!) and I am so afraid to do that again.
I love cooking! If I wasn’t a photographer I would be a chef. I really want to learn more about vegan and raw food preparation. I am not vegan – I still eat meat and eggs but I enjoy the challenge of cooking in a non-traditional way.
I love yoga! I started it several years ago with a great teacher and I wish I could go to class every day.
I love sake! I am currently reading a few books on the process and the types. I have tried a lot of different kinds and I have my favorites but I still want to learn more!
I wanted to start my blog with a recent photo of myself. The problem is, being a photographer I am always behind the camera! But I found this photo – it is about 4 months old but it will do!
