I am always falling in love with the best waterproof mascara only to find out that it has been discontinued by the time I run out. I started with Revlon ColorStay Overtime Lash Tint. Do you remember that mascara? It was the awesome 3 day mascara – it went on thin and wet as a liquid but it dried to a nice finish. And sure enough – it was long term. I loved wearing it to weddings – I sweat, I cry, I get shiny and I don’t need my mascara running down my face. I was disappointed when I ran out and couldn’t find it anymore. I looked online and it was discontinued.
I was in a pinch to replace it and I got the well-known top selling Maybelline Great Lash (the pink and black tube). The only problem with it was I found it was too thick and clumpy. It didn’t run down my face too much but it did wear off the tips of my lashes by the end of a wedding.
I was getting irritated with not having an awesome mascara so I turned to Paula Begoun (she is the one with the awesome line of skincare called Paula’s Choice and she now has a review site called Beautypedia) for her advice. The Beautypedia site lets you search makeup and skincare by brand, by type, by rating and more. It is awesome! I found a review on Maybelline’s new Define-A-Lash waterproof mascara and I thought it was worth a try. It rocks! I wore it to Saturday’s wedding – which was a scorcher! All of my makeup melted off – the poor bridesmaids’ dresses were all wet and spotty with sweat – silk dresses are not forgiving when it comes to sweat! But when I got home that night – my mascara was still in place with none on my skin at all! This is the new best waterproof mascara!
