I just bought the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition yesterday. I love looking at all of the swimsuits! There are a couple of vintage inspired suits featured in the magazine and I decided to go to the mall tonight and find some. I can’t find them anywhere! I even asked at Everything But Water and the girl looked at me like I was crazy.
Here are the ones from the magazine I liked the best (cheap copies – I took the pics with my F30):
I like this one because of the low hips on it – swimsuit by Karla Colletto $221.
This one looks great on the model, but not as great on the Perry Ellis website – swimsuit by Perry Ellis Swim $106.
Same thing for this one – it looks great on the model but not so much on the website (although I like how it comes in different colors) – swimsuit by Omo Norma Kamali $350.
Here is hot little Playmate Carmella Garcia in my favorite suit in the whole issue – swimsuit by Speedo Axcelerate $132. (By the way if anyone knows where to find this suit, can you let me know? It isn’t on the Speedo website)
And the cover of the 1964 Sports Illustrated:
And while vintage inspired swimwear has been on my brain, I found even more in April’s Vogue! Much cuter suits. Much bigger price tags!
This 1950s inspired suit by John Galliano $350.
I LOVE this one by Louis Vuitton $455.
This one is really cute – if it was a solid color I would put a brooch in the middle of the top – swimsuit by Chloe $359.
And out of all of the vintage inspired swimsuits, this one is my absolute FAVE! Go figure, it also has the biggest price tag. I love the romper look! Swimsuit by Missoni $840.
