It’s amazing what you can order online now. I guess I always thought you needed to go into a tire shop and just take what they had in stock when you needed new tires. But not anymore, and it was a great experience! Let me walk you through it.
Sandra’s cousin Hiram works for Goodyear, in fact his name is on more than a dozen patents for them and some of those patents apply to the tires that I ordered. He recommended ordering tires from Goodyear.com because the shops don’t always have what you want in stock. By ordering the tires online you get a great price, you get to schedule your install and your install is paid for as part of your order. All you do is show up, wait for the work to be completed and leave.
Now let’s talk tires! The ones I chose were the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar. I know what you’re thinking, why Kevlar? Well, Kevlar is stronger than steel and also much lighter. So for the construction of a tire it’s a perfect material. (Yes, you can still get nails in your tires, but you’re less likely to tear a tire on a curb or large rock)
Not all tires are available in all areas, this one for example wasn’t an option when I was in Ohio but it also doesn’t make sense to have this aggressive of a tread when you aren’t in a rugged environment. Another thing about the aggressive tread is that these suckers are loud. Loud enough to make it hard to talk on the phone, but these aren’t the conference call type of tires, they are for off road and trails which is why I chose them.
I’m on my second set of Goodyears and have zero complaints about any step of the process. It’s really nice to be able to research tires, pick, pay and move on so easily. Now it’s time to hit some trails!
