We’ve been waking up before the sunrise to go to our favorite bakery in Lyon (Boulangerie de la Martinière) and since we were up so early, we decided to walk along the Saône River (it joins up to the Rhône River just south of Lyon). Along the east side of the river, vendors were setting up a farmer’s market! It was nice to walk through the market because it wasn’t crowded.
I get so excited when I see mimosa flowers. They are so beautiful and fragrant. They grow all over the south of France and the best part is when you start to see them you know Spring is right around the corner!
The artichokes in France are like works of art to me – they are so beautiful! I mentioned this in a video when we were in Antibes – I wish I knew how to cook an artichoke. It looks like I need to do some YouTube searches on cooking them!
We walked back home on the west side of the river. There was another market on the west side selling arts and crafts. Chris spotted some cool hand made Harry Potter type magician wands and he regrets not buying one. We will have to go back!
