We wanted to spend some time in the Alps in Austria so we headed to Schwendau, Austria. Schwendau is in Tyrol and people snow ski year round here! We had a little snow down in the valley while we were there but it didn’t really stick. But we saw plenty of people heading up to the higher parts of the mountain where it was snowing. We also saw a lot of people paragliding! I really wanted to try it (tandem, of course) but I didn’t get the chance. Next time!

The view from our Airbnb was SO amazing. We were still getting the run-down from the owner about where things were and such when Chris said, “If you want to sell this place I will buy it!â€
Look at the view and our back patio:
We quickly FaceTime called our families to show them the view before the sun went down and this is Chris showing the view to my Mother-in-Law Patty:
James is already comfortable inside:
That big orange bean bag chair was a bit odd – I tried it twice and it worked best for a nap in the sun one day. That hanging chair out back was my favorite place when the sun was shining!
The owner of the flat has a dog and James quickly found the toy bin. This was J’s favorite toy during our stay – a little kitty:
James also figured out where the dog treats are kept in the cabinets. One day, while sitting at the table working on my laptop I looked over and saw James sitting in the kitchen. I asked him what he was doing and he just looked at me. Then after a few minutes I looked again and his head had dropped. I walked over and I remembered that is the cabinet where the owner’s dog treats are kept!

We found this AMAZING lemon gelato at the Mpreis grocery store (Mpreis is a lot like Fresh Market but with better prices):
One of our neighbors had this pretty display by their front door so I had James pose with it:
Our last morning walk in Schwendau – we walked along the river and found this fun arch:
