While in Nebraska we were told, “You HAVE to get a Runza!”
We had no idea what a Runza was so we looked it up. It is a statewide sandwich chain (there are some in Kansas and Iowa now, too).
The bread is a soft yeast roll and the filling is almost stuffed into the roll like a Hot Pocket. The filling is made of ground beef, cabbage and onions. You can also add cheese and other items to your Runza. The sandwiches are said to be of German origin.
We cut our Runza in half to get a better look at the filling before we tried it.

And these are not Runzas, but while in Nebraska I stopped at Walmart. I was walking down the ice cream aisle when I spotted some unusual flavors of ice cream made by Little Debbie. I have never seen these before! I’m regretting not buying one or two to try them now – I haven’t seen them since. Have you tried these Little Debbie Ice Creams?
