Arnold Palmer.
I was sad to hear Arnold Palmer passed away back in September. Before he passed away, I had pre-ordered his recent memoir on Amazon and I was looking forward to hearing more fascinating stories. It sounded like Arnie was quite the guy.
I also decided that I wanted to try the official Amazon Arnold Palmer drink. I saw it everywhere in Florida but I never tried it. Well, this turned out to be QUITE the hunt in DC! I have looked everywhere and the only thing I can find is Arnold Palmer Lite or Arnold Palmer Zero. I am not a big fan of aspartame. I don’t drink a lot of sugary drinks anyway so to have one as a treat I want the real thing – sugar! I looked at Safeway, Giant, Wal-Mart, 7-11, gas stations, food trucks, etc. You name it, I’ve looked. Chris is even getting sick of my hunt because whenever we go into a new store I disappear looking for the canned tea.
Well, I decided to give up last night when I found the Gold Peak Lemonade Tea at Safeway. It is manufactured by Coca Cola so it has to be good. I was just hoping to find the Arizona one. I couldn’t even find the powdered Arizona tea mix!
I tried it and it is yummy! A perfect summer drink. Too bad we are now heading into fall and I will be wanting a warm drink soon. Any suggestions on something I should hunt for at the stores?
