We didn’t have dinner plans for my birthday, and at the last minute we decided to get dressed and go out. We called Dux over at the Peabody hotel on I drive and they were still open. There was a terrible accident on Turkey Lake so we were thinking we might not get there before they closed! But we ended up making it and it was amazing! The month of January was truffle month. I wasn’t sure what a truffle was – apparently it is a type of fungus that is only found in late winter. It is found by boars and dogs and it can cost more than several hundred dollars a pound!
The whole truffle and food experience at the Peabody was amazing and I highly recommend it for someone wanting a special meal out.

They also gave me a special birthday platter with a sparkler (I had to take these goodies to go – I was stuffed!):
