I mean really cook – buy the stuff, get out the cookbook, chop, mix, prep, etc? I am not so sure. This meal prep kitchen thing we tried is awesome! So far we have had two of the meals and number four is in the oven right now. Last night we had blue cheese crusted pork. Tonight is beef enchiladas. It is so easy – you just preheat the oven and put it in for whatever the sticker says.
I clearly like it, because I signed up for a half session of 8 meals (last time I just did a taster for 2 meals). But the thing is, it is really 16 meals because I make each meal into two containers since it is just Chris and I eating them. Each full meal serves 8. Since we half each one, the kitchen gives us 2x as many containers to cook the meals in so we don’t have to cook for all 8 at once – we just do the half portion.
And we have figured out that since we are making a half portion that feeds 4, we end up having lunch the next day. And the re-heated food is just as good! Last night, Chris liked the blue cheese pork so much that we didn’t end up having leftovers. But that is okay.
Here is the place we went:
I decided to add a photo of our beef enchiladas, since this blog is no fun without jpgs!
