I recorded Kate and Will’s royal wedding and like many people out there I was really excited to see her dress! I am hoping that Kate’s choice will help shift the styles of dresses just a little bit. I see tons and tons of strapless wedding dresses. And although I love them (I was one of them – my dress was strapless when Chris and I got married!) I am ready for a bit of a fashion shift. I also love her long train. I rarely see dresses with long trains anymore. Years ago the trend was to pull the train in front of the bride. And maid of honors are always trying to recreate this for me (I appreciate the help!) but the train barely pulls around to the side.
I loved the six English field maples and two hornbeams (up to 20 feet tall!) that they placed inside Westminster Abbey. What a great idea! Then after the wedding, the flowers and trees will remain for a week, where visitors to the Abbey will be able to enjoy them. Then the trees will be taken to the Prince of Wales’s Highgrove estate, where they will be planted as a permanent reminder of the day.
I just love this photo – it is my favorite out of all that were shown in the media:
I love the flower girl dresses! I was in a wedding when I was about 5 years old and the dress looked just like this, only light pink. My mom still has the dress in her cedar chest. It is a really nice material and I’m sure the dress was expensive. The waistband and bow were just a bit darker, too. I see so many flower girl dresses that are just not that cute – they look like they couldn’t find any other options. I hope the trend moves to these, too.
