I finished Kelly Cutrone’s book and sat down for a light quick read of If Life is a Game, These are the Rules by Cherie Carter-Scott. It was a great read about living life to the fullest – but I was at the beach doing that part and I wanted a good juicy novel to read.
So at the top of the stack of books was
Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin.
It was just what I wanted in a great juicy novel – about a lawyer living in New York and her best friend and they end up both loving the same man.
I visited my friend Leslie back in May and she was subletting an apartment near Columbus Circle. The apartment was furnished – and filled – with the sublessor’s stuff. Including a small collection of books. Leslie slept in one day and I read Lauren Weisberger’s Everyone Worth Knowing in one sitting. I enjoyed the book so I decided to take a photo of the other books so I could someday read some of those.
Something Borrowed was one of the books in her sublessor’s collection and it was just as good. I can’t wait to read the others!
One of my favorite clips from the book was this:
“Songs and smells will bring you back to a moment in time more than anything else. It’s amazing how much can be conjured with a few notes of a song or a solitary whiff of a room. A song you didn’t even pay attention to at the time, a place that you didn’t even know had a particular smell.”
