Chris and I have been trying to start a new tradition – date day. We tend to work in the office all week and then we shoot all weekend. Since we rarely take a day off we knew we had to do something to keep our relationship great and to keep our personal sanity! One of our recent date days was a visit to the Kennedy Space Center. It has been on our list for a while (Gatorland was, too and that would our first date day this past spring) and we were really excited about going!
A self portrait (we tend to take a lot of these!) in front of the space shuttle that you can walk through. I was definitely fooled – most of the shuttle is cargo and the “living space” is very, very small!
And even smaller, a rocket that Chris climbed into:
And then I climbed into this tiny one – there is NO way I would go into space in this! I was not cut out to be an astronaut!
My favorite part of the Kennedy Space Center was the Early Space Exploration building. I really wish it had more – I could have spent the majority of my time in there if it was bigger. At the end of the loop through the building they have a fake Lunar Rover that you can climb into. We set the camera up on it and took a self portrait of our ride on the moon!
