We had a meeting with the county tonight about our road. The speed limit on Lake Marsha Drive is 25mph yet people tend to go much, much faster. I guess Ricardo Iudice killing himself with that tree going 120mph and drinking at 16 years old got the meeting on the calendars.
It was crazy to see how fired up people were about “we have to have speed bumps”, “but speed bumps are bad for old people and emergency crews”, “we have to have stop signs” “but that is another study and not the original study.” Oh my God it was giving me a headache to hear all this craziness!
I thought a good idea would be to close our road in the middle back where it was closed years ago at Alma Way. But some cranky woman said she didn’t want to have to go out the Dr. Phillips exit of her neighborhood. She is exactly the problem – she uses our road as a speedway to cut through to I-4.
It is really sad that they won’t close the road – the problem is the traffic – people use our road to cut through. Speed bumps are great but we will still have the heavy traffic and anywhere there is heavy traffic people are going to be in a hurry and speed.
I think we are going to plant more Oak trees. The oak trees are winning against the people and I’ve always wanted the chance at a Pulitzer Prize. I just need to pull up a lawn chair and wait!
