Today was the long awaited grand opening of Whole Foods in Orlando. Lucky for us – it is so close we could ride our bikes there! The only other Whole Foods in town is in Winter Park – about 30 minutes away. And it is a mini Whole Foods – not like the ones in normal big cities. So the new one is HUGE and wonderful! It was very crowded today – lots of lookers and tasters and not a lot of real shoppers. But I know that will die down eventually and it will be so awesome to have nearby. The one in Vancouver was about the same as this one we had – and it was quiet and peaceful. I’ll give it a month for the hype to die down and then I will be in grocery heaven!
I didn’t take too many pictures inside – but they have a huge floral area, an enormous produce area, several soup stations, a wine tasting bar, and a really nice big self-serve ready-to-eat food area. The one in Winter Park is very small and they tend to have the same food all the time. I look forward to running over there to grab a quick healthy lunch and having much more variety!
