I am an old school girl when it comes to calendars – I LOVE my paper and pencil. I have a Month-At-A-Glance that I use and it is the 5 year book. So I can scroll ahead to view years in advance, check open wedding dates and keep track of how many inquiries, wedding and portrait shoots I have. All on paper with a pencil. I get harassed often because I don’t use Ical.
But one thing I don’t enter in my calendar year after year is birthdays and other important dates. This year it hit pretty hard when I forgot to put my in-laws birthdays in and my mother in law just happened to be first. I didn’t tell Chris, so Chris didn’t call. BIG oops! I did remember the following day, but by then it is too late. So I decided to search for a solution. I used to use Birthday Pal, and for all I knew it still worked. I got an email the day of the birthday for 99% of the ones and a week reminder extra for a few that I send cards to. Well, I didn’t realize it wasn’t working until now!
So I searched Google, and of all things Google was mentioned on a few boards as being the best for calendars. I should have known!
It has where you can enter the event, have it occur annually, you can get however many email reminders you need (minutes, hours, days, weeks, etc). That is nice since I like to have a week notice to ship my nephews their birthday gifts!
I entered Chris, too – so I will get to test it out since his reminder will arrive this Thursday.
